Disc Dog Classes
Disc Dogs (or sometimes called Frisbee dogs) learn to catch flying discs on the run, in the air, or while performing a trick. The discs are tossed by the handler to allow the dog an easy and graceful catch. Both the dog and the handler have to learn many of the basic and advanced techniques. In the Disc Dog class, the dog will learn the "drive for the disc", catching short, medium and long distances, and jumping to catch the disc.
The class will meet once a week for 6 weeks. Included in the price of the class, the handler will receive a competition disc to use in class and take home for continued practice.
Every dog can learn to become a disc dog. The dog must have some pre-requisites for the class including: a good sit, stay/wait, and a basic recall. The class will be held in a fenced field area 70 x 100 feet. This will give the dogs plenty of space to run and a sense of security for the handler.
